Byrd Polar Research Center

The Byrd Polar Research Center at the Ohio State University is the lead institute on the RISCO project. The BPRC conducts analysis on glacier dynamics and ice flow velocity, as well as compiling near-real time imagery animations for certain Arctic and Antarctic imagery subsets. Please contact Ian Howat, RISCO's Principle Investigator, for more information.

Polar Geospatial Center

The Polar Geospatial Center at the University of Minnesota is active in RISCO by providing sub-meter imagery for analysis and mapping for Arctic and Antarctic glaciers. The PGC also builds web mapping and online viewing tools for researchers to monitor specific ice sheets from a public domain. Please contact Paul Morin, RISCO's Co-Investigator, for more information.

LANCENASA Land Atmosphere Near real-time Capability for EOS (LANCE)

The NASA LANCE system is a data collaborator providing RISCO with access and subset creation of MODIS satellite imagery. This data is vital to the daily monitoring of ice sheet events at a low-resolution for all outlet glaciers and ice sheets in Greenland and Antarctica. RISCO's RapidIce Viewer utilizes MODIS imagery. For more information, visit the LANCE homepage.

British Antarctic Survey

The British Antarctic Survey is a data collaborator providing RISCO with access to ENVISAT radar imagery. This imagery is used to monitor glaciers regardless of cloud conditions. For more information, visit the British Antarctic Survey.

National Snow & Ice Data Center (NSIDC)

National Snow & Ice Data Center (NSIDC)

The NSIDC Distributed Active Archive Center (DAAC) is a data collaborator providing RISCO with access to IceBridge mission data and other cryospheric data products.  RISCO's partnership with the NSIDC allows for access and collaboration with multiple types of remote sensing data. For more information, visit the NSIDC DAAC
